e.g. Brain-Tumor Pathology, Developmental Neuropathology, and Experimental
Models of Multiple Sclerosis.

has authored and co-authored over 80 publications, including peer-reviewed
Research Articles, scientific Reviews, Editorials, and Book Chapters. Additionally, he serves as a regular reviewer

include brain pathology/tumor biology, mechanisms of neuronal injury in
Cerebral Palsy, pathological and immunological aspects of Multiple Sclerosis
and nervous system vasculitis, neurotoxicology,
and neuropathologic correlates in schizophrenia and
autism.
Thus, Dr.Katsetos
is known for work on embryonal tumors of the nervous
system such as the cerebellar medulloblastomas,
common in children, the desmoplastic medulloblastoma,
and the glioblastomas,
most common lethal brain tumors in adults. He has received an Established
Investigator Award from the St. Christopher’s Foundation for Children and
continues active research on brain tumors, cerebral palsy and autism.
MEDICAL EDUCATION: Dr. Katsetos has taught medical students and Pathology,
Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology, Housestaff
and has mentored graduate research students and visiting scholars and faculty
members from many nations. He is an
advocate for the disabled using the guidelines of the Americans with
Disabilities Act as a model.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO HELLENISM. In addition to his active academic medical career, Dr. Katsetos maintains a longstanding and abiding interest in
the History of Medicine (contributions of Greek scholars to Ottoman medicine
during the Tanzimat period, 19th century), as well as
in Modern Greek History, including post-Byzantine historiography as it relates
to cultural, educational and political aspects of the Ottoman Rum Millet and Romiosyne, the natural precursor of the Modern Greek
nation. Additionally, he has a special interest in the historiography
pertaining to linguistically diversified groups of Romiosyne
(Armâni/Vlachs, Arvanites/Arvanitovlachs,
Karamanlides) as the vehicles of Greek continuity in

is a firm believer in the need for a revival in Greek-US strategic ties and
seeks an augmented role for Greek-America in supporting the rightful causes of Hellenism in

“ethno-linguistic minorities”; the problem of Makedonski
(Slav Macedonian) irredentist nationalism in FYROM-Skopje; the Airspace
